Lead Time

In the context of Predictive Preloads, lead time is the "head start" the browser gets to prepare the next page. It is the duration between when Speed Kit's Prediction Engine anticipates a user's next click and when the user actually clicks the link. A longer lead time allows the browser to fully pre-cache and even pre-render the next page, making the subsequent navigation feel instantaneous.
