Cache Hit Ratio

The cache hit ratio is the percentage of requests that a cache can successfully serve from its stored content (a "hit"), as opposed to requests that it cannot fulfill and must pass on to the Origin Server (a "miss"). A high cache hit ratio is a primary indicator of an effective caching strategy, as it means more users are receiving a fast, cached response. Speed Kit uses several techniques to maximize this ratio, such as URL parameter handling. Specifically, it uses RUM data to intelligently pre-warm the cache, fetching a site's most important pages onto the Fastly edge nodes before users even request them.
