F

Frame

In web performance context, a "frame" is a single rendered snapshot of a webpage. The browser renders frames at a target rate (typically 60 frames per second, or 60 FPS). If the browser cannot maintain this frame rate due to heavy JavaScript or rendering operations, frames get "dropped" and the page feels janky. Smooth, flicker-free page interactions require maintaining a high frame rate.
