Placeholder

A placeholder is a temporary visual element, such as a loading spinner or a gray "skeleton" box, that is displayed on a page while the final content is being loaded in the background. Placeholders improve the user experience by providing immediate visual feedback and can help prevent Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) by occupying the space that the final content will eventually fill. Speed Kit can be configured to show placeholders for dynamic content areas before the Merge occurs.
