Time-to-Live (TTL)

Time-to-Live is a setting for a piece of content in a cache that specifies how long it should be considered "fresh." After the TTL expires, the caching system knows it must re-validate the content with the Origin Server on the next request to see if it has changed. A well-configured TTL is essential for balancing performance (serving content from cache) with content freshness.
