A waterfall chart is a type of data visualization used in web performance analysis tools to illustrate how a browser loads all the assets on a webpage. Each asset (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images) is listed in chronological order, and the chart shows a horizontal bar representing the time it took to download. This allows developers to quickly identify which resources are taking the longest to load and might be creating a performance bottleneck.
